       Two senior positions at SA Chamber of Baking

SA Chamber of Baking wishes to appoint a qualified and experienced General Manager / CEO and Administrator at the SACB Head Office in Centurion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Job Title: GENERAL MANAGER/CEO       Reports to the Chairperson of the Board

 


Job Description:  Serving the baking industry in South Africa by taking full responsibility for the successful management and functioning of the Chamber at both the operational and strategic level. The position requires a sound understanding of the role and function of an industry association. Insight into the wheat-to-bread value chain will be an advantage.

 


Key elements of the position include:


• General Management of the Chamber.
• Advocacy and lobbying on behalf of the industry and representation on external forums, committees and working groups encompassing government, private sector and consumer organisations. In certain instances you may be required to take up leadership roles in these organisations.
• A good understanding of legislation related to the baking industry and the wheat-to-bread value chain.
• Provide leadership to the key Training function of the Chamber.
• Being an effective communication channel and mouthpiece for the industry.
• Development and expansion of the Chamber’s membership base.
• Achieving results through the effective functioning of specialist standing committees and contributing to the growth of the baking industry.

Job Title: ADMINISTRATOR    Reports to the General Manager

 


Job Description: Administration of the Chamber which includes:


• Basic accounting and administration of the Chamber.
• Organising Chamber Committee Meetings, Annual General Meetings and other Industry Meetings, including the taking of Minutes.
• Communication with members, external industry bodies including government departments, the public, standing committee members and members of the Management Board.
• Co-ordination of the Chamber’s Training function, including the management of the Chamber’s examinations.
• Organising events such as workshops, seminars and webinars.
• Administration of the Chamber’s website.
• Represent the Chamber on industry related bodies when necessary.
• Understanding the role and functions of an industry association will be an added advantage.
