iba: German Bakers’ Confederation and GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen extend cooperation
GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH and the German Bakers‘ Confederation have extended their cooperation on a long-term basis.
As the conceptual owner of iba, the German Bakers‘ Confederation has once again commissioned GHM to organise the world’s leading trade fair for the baking and confectionery industry until 2039.
Proven partnership with a future
GHM will thus organise five more editions of the world’s leading trade fair for the baking and confectionery industry at three-year intervals. The contract extension builds on a long-standing joint success story: back in 1958, both organisations laid the foundation for their partnership at the “International Bakery Exhibition”, now known as iba for short.
Since 2006, GHM has been solely responsible for organising iba in cooperation with the German Bakers’ Confederation. Together, the partners have developed iba into the world’s largest trade fair for the baking and confectionery industry.
Continuity and planning security
The baking industry needs planning security. That is exactly what this agreement guarantees. Roland Ermer, President of the German Bakers’ Confederation, emphasises: “This long-term commitment is an important strategic signal for the German baking industry.
The contract extension is a clear commitment to the international importance of the German bakery trade and secures a strong platform for the baking industry worldwide for the coming years. With GHM, we have a reliable and excellent trade fair partner at our side.
The iba will thus remain the central location where innovations in the baking industry can be presented, market trends discussed and business relationships prepared and concluded across countries and continents. In addition, we would like to continue using the iba in the future to bundle interests vis-à-vis politicians.”
Tobias Gröber, CEO and President of GHM, explains “We are delighted about the trust placed in us and the continuation of this long-term partnership until 2039. The cooperation is of strategic importance for iba. It guarantees exhibitors and the entire industry the greatest possible planning security, even in turbulent times.
Together with our association partners and customers, we are continuously developing the trade fair and consistently aligning it with the requirements of the market. In this way, we will continue to be a reliable partner for all market participants in the industry in the future.”
iba brings together the economic forces of trade and industry. As a future-oriented platform for the global baking industry, it focuses on the needs of the market and is constantly evolving.
