SA Bakers Association
The South African Bakers Association was incorporated as a Non-Profit Company on 1st September 2016 by a group of like-minded professionals in the Baking Industry.
The purpose of the South African Bakers Association is to promote the Baking industry as a whole within South Africa, leveraging the passion and commitment of a few to drive the industry forward. We aim to be a place that will enable collaboration and sharing of information and knowledge, where bakers at all skill levels can connect to grow their own professional network to grow the connectivity within our industry.
These networks will help members socialise with like minded people withing the industry, providing access to business support, business opportunities and job prospects.
Training and Skills Development is going to be key focus area for the South African Bakers Association. Working through Government, Private and reputed Institutes the South African Bakers Association will be a pivotal role player in the creation, adoption and role-out of key initiatives around training and skills development.
There is a need to uplift the levels within South Africa, to be the standard bearers in Africa and compete at the highest levels worldwide.
Membership is split between Professional, General and Students. This includes many corporate sponsors that have a role within Baking industry – in SA and aboard. Members are entailed to a range of benefits, including networking events and access to business and technical support.
The membership within the South Africa Bakers Association has grown ten-fold in the last year through focused engagement with key industry players and increased exposure of coming together under a single banner to service the needs of the Baking Industry.
Members are brought into the mix directly to help build and execute the plans aimed at delivering key strategic pillars of the Association. More and more, volunteers are stepping forward and are very much welcomed.
The board consists of Stuart McClarty (President), Marcelle Wepener (Vice President), and Terence Chetty (Marketing Director), it is their responsibility to manage the day to day operations of the South African Bakers Association and deliver on the mandate given to them by the associations Professional Members.
