SASKO sponsors 2019 Blisters for Bread
SASKO, the experts in milling and baking, is proud to announce it will be one of the sponsors for the Blisters for Bread Fun Walk in Association with Lucky Star in 2019. The brand has come on board as one of the supporting sponsors of the walk which will take place on 25 August 2019 at the Green Point Cricket Club.
Jackie Pillay, SASKO Bread Brand Manager, says: “We are proud to be involved with Peninsula School Feeding Association given the very similar values that both SASKO and PSFA have – which is caring for local communities through various initiatives at schools level. At Pioneer Foods, we work with various organisations across the country feeding children, and this is what PSFA is all about too as they understand that you cannot teach a hungry child.
“Blisters for Bread is a family event, and SASKO is a part of the daily lives of many families in the Western Cape – be it sandwiches in lunchboxes, bread rolls at a braai or flour in birthday cakes. SASKO is often there during these key milestones in our lives. But we also understand that many families do not know where their next meal will come from, and we applaud PSFA for the work they do every day.”
The walk will see families and communities coming together to walk 5km or 10km to raise funds for the Peninsula School Feeding Scheme. “It’s a great way to spend a day and SASKO Sam will be there to entertain and delight children in the SASKO children’s zone,” says Pillay.
The event will include two routes along the Sea Point Promenade, a 10km walk that starts at 7:30 am and a 5km walk that starts at 8 am. Every person who enters will receive a medal. Entries for the walk have officially opened. Head to www.psfa.org.za for more information and to enter online, head here.
